Strong condemnation by leaders and intellectuals for Palestine (2014)
We declare our support for the words of comrade Evo Morales, founder of the Network in Defense of Humanity and President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, in which he declares Israel a terrorist state.
We express our absolute condemnation of the genocide suffered by the Palestinian people at the hands of a state founded on the dispossession and colonial occupation of Palestinian territories.
We recognize and express our solidarity with the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people and their resistance organizations, especially in Gaza, against Israel's attempt to exterminate them and seize the remaining shreds of what was their homeland.
We condemn the imperialist role of the United States, which politically, financially, and militarily supports Israel in the face of the unprecedented inaction of the UN Security Council, whose resolutions on the Palestinian issue are systematically and with impunity violated by Washington. The United States exhibits the hypocrisy and cynicism displayed throughout its history. It threatens sanctions and interventions against peoples in Latin America, Africa, and Eurasia who are defending their sovereignty, while it supports Israel's actions.
We denounce the complicity in these events, either through omission in some cases, by the governments of the European Union, as well as the unconditional subordination of media oligopolies to the dictates of Washington. Enough of calling it a war, it's a genocide committed by one of the most powerful armies in the world against a people whose defensive resources are infinitely inferior in number and quality!
We encourage everyone to join the campaign for the boycott, divestment, and sanctions against the terrorist state of Israel; it is time for active and creative solidarity beyond mere condemnation statements. We have failed the over 1,600 people killed in Palestine in recent weeks, as well as the more than 9,000 injured since the hypocritically named 'Operation Protective Edge' began.
We demand an end to apartheid and genocide, as well as the illegal walls and settlements. We call on governments worldwide to demand that Israel comply with the UN Security Council resolutions requiring it to withdraw from Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, return to the borders before the Six-Day War (1967), and ensure the return of Palestinian refugees, as established by UN Security Council Resolution No. 242 of November 22, 1967, a resolution that remains unfulfilled by the State of Israel to this day….
Taking the words of the revolutionary Nelson Mandela as our own, 'we know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.' We affirm that Israel has lost the moral and political battle against the courageous Palestinian people and deserves the growing condemnation of the world's peoples as a 'rogue' state that violates international law. The indomitable Palestinian resistance will have its reward sooner rather than later in the smiles of their children in a free homeland.
Against Israeli terrorism and American imperialism, in defense of the right to self-determination of Palestine and all the world's peoples!
